Registered Nurse
Union Health Center (UHC), a non-profit ambulatory healthcare center, is seeking a full-time, bi-lingual Spanish Registered Nurse. UHC is committed to serving the health care needs of union members, their families and retirees. This RN is part of a multidisciplinary team of a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) providing direct patient care, working collaboratively with primary care providers and supervising medical assistants in assigned clinical areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. -New York State Licensed Registered Nurse; BSN preferred
  2. -3 years ambulatory experience preferred.
  3. -Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication and problem-solving skills.
  4. -Excellent computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, electronic medical record

Registration Desk Supervisor
Union Health Center (UHC), a non-profit ambulatory healthcare center, is seeking a full-time, bi-lingual Spanish Registration Desk Supervisor with a focus on customer service to join its team. UHC is committed to serving the health care needs of union members, their families and retirees. This individual will supervise staff in all registration areas and oversees day-to -day front desk operations in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. *College degree required

  1. -Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a health care setting; ambulatory care preferred.
  2. -Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication and problem-solving skills.
  3. -Good computer skills required, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and electronic medical record.
  4. -Excellent customer service skills required.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

    SUMMARY:

 

    Directs and coordinates all Human Resource activities for the organization, supports and encourages staff development and provides guidance to senior and middle management on all personnel issues.

 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Provides the leadership and direction necessary to implement the human resources policies established by the Union Health Center’s Senior Leadership
  2. Provides guidance and direction to the all clinical and administrative departments as well as all managers on human resources matters.
  3. Plans and organizes the functions of the Human Resources Department in the Union Health Center to ensure services are provided.
  4. Participates in the long-range planning of UHC staffing plans and human resource development.
  5. Monitors and maintains all personnel operations in line with UHC goals and all federal and state regulatory requirements.
  6. Assists management with recruiting and screening potential new employees and provides support throughout the interview and hiring process.
  7. Coordinates the development and consistent application of policies concerning selection and placement, transfers, promotions, terminations and leave of absence.
  8. Coordinates all matters involving relationships with labor organizations and unionized employee groups.
  9. Works with the union representative to resolve labor issues. Will participate in contract negotiations
  10. Promotes, plans and coordinating programs for the training and development of employees, and centralized staff-wide training programs
  11. Is available to all staff as needed to mediate and troubleshoot personnel issues as they arise.
  12. Develops wage and salary guidelines, job descriptions, and minimum employment requirements and competencies.
  13. Oversees payroll administration and accounts payable
  14. Develops and administers policies relating to retirement, group insurance, and other staff benefit plans.
  15. Assures company compliance with provisions of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Supervises preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Services, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies. Reviews and analyzes changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and reports necessary or suggested changes to management
  16. Complies with the Union Health Center’s policies & procedures related to privacy and security of identifiable patient information (PHI), pursuant to the (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act).
  17. Supports the stated goals and objectives of the Patient Centered Medical Home by working cooperatively with all clinical and non-clinical staff to develop procedures that enhance the Health Center’s team-based approach to patient care.

 

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Supervises HR generalist

 

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. BA degree in Human Resources or related field
  2. Two to four years managerial experience in Human Resources
  3. Human Resources Certification required.
  4. Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication and collaborative skills.
  5. Advanced computer skills.

 

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

    Primary Responsibilities:

 

  1. Manage servers, routers, switches, security appliances (Dell Sonicwall)
  2. Provide server maintenance and back-up
  3. Maintain print server and printers
  4. Troubleshoot network performance issues
  5. Test network systems to eliminate problems
  6. Monitor network systems to detect service down-age and/or failures in power communications equipment, software and hardware
  7. Experience with LAN, Remote Desktop, VMware, VSphere, Windows Server, Exchange and Active Directory
  8. Deploy server and workstation operating systems using Windows Deployment Services
  9. Maintain and create Windows Deployment services operating system images
  10. Create and maintain AD Group Policy settings
  11. Manage and support LAN and WAN network devices
  12. Troubleshoot problems/end-user support
  13. Perform workstation maintenance/software updates and support
  14. Communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
  15. Email administration
  16. Audio and Video setup for meeting and presentations
  17. Citrix and remote RDP remote access servers

 

    GE Centricity EMR Related Functions:
  1. Communicate with Managers, providers, staff. assist in installs, and general support of GE Centricity application
  2. Create and Edit electronic medical record (EMR) templates as required
  3. Ensure functionality of software and hardware involved with GE Centricity
  4. Perform EMR upgrades
  5. Maintain HL7 interfaces with labs and radiology groups
  6. Maintain MS SQL database replication and backup

 

    Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in related field or equivalent experience
  2. 4 years’ experience in a Systems Administration role
  3. Experience with GE Centricity(CPS) a plus
  4. Basic knowledge in database administration
  5. Proficient with networking and virtualization technologies
  6. Experience with Linux administration
  7. Acquainted with bash/shell/Powershell scripting languages
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

Medical Assistant – Bilingual Spanish

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Measures and/or records vital signs, allergies, weight, height and smoking status into the electronic medical record (EMR).
  2. Performs urine pregnancy test, peak flows, finger stick for glucose, monofilament foot exams and/or urine dipstick, if needed.
  3. Codes patient procedures into the EMR.
  4. Assists provider with refilling medication prescriptions and patient procedures as per Union Health Center (UHC) policies and procedures (P&P).
  5. Reviews EMR prior to scheduled appointments for completion of health maintenance recommendations, previous Pap smear, mammography, other radiographic studies and lab work. Updates flow sheet as per UHC P&P.
  6. Checks and stocks exam rooms with supplies. At the end of the work day, prepares exam rooms for the next work day.
  7. Sets up room for the provider.
  8. Communicates bi-directionally with greeter of patient’s arrival and/or appointment status.
  9. Escorts patient to the exam room. Initially assesses and prepares the patient for the provider.
  10. Reviews, confirms and updates the patient’s demographic data in the EMR registration document.
  11. Communicates with the provider and team.
  12. Assists the provider with translation, form completion and patient education, as needed.
  13. Updates the EMR as directed by the provider (medications, E&M coding).
  14. Schedules future appointments in the EMR and directs the patient to his/her next stop (lab, pharmacy, radiology, P.S.S.).
  15. Assists provider with visit confirmation/follow-up calls, preparing letters to patients or rescheduling appointments per UHC P&P. Makes reminder calls and generates correspondence per UHC P&P.
  16. Cleans and sterilizes instruments as needed.
  17. Answers telephones and documents clinical notes in the EMR per UHC P&P.
  18. Complete and sign notes in a timely manner.
  19. Completes electronic or paper referrals for patients.
  20. Collects information about walk-in patient’s clinical complaints and directs patient to the RN for triage, if necessary.
  21. Follows safety procedures and blood borne pathogen precautions as per UHC policies and procedures.
  22. Prepares materials for injections, nebulizer treatment, and in-office procedures as directed by the provider.
  23. Supports and reinforces policies re: patient care, infection control and safety.

 

    Qualifications:
  1. High school or Equivalency /GED Diploma and current Medical Assistant Registration (RMA) or Certification (CMA).
  2. Computer Literate.
  3. Language proficiency required in one of the target languages of the organization.
  4. Ability to communicate and work well with people at all levels; excellent team and “people” skills.
  5. Assist and maintain a strong working relationship with providers and professional members of the team.
  6. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  7. Initiates good judgment and ability to contribute in making decisions in a timely fashion.
  8. Actively seek out and support collaborative thinking and problem solving with others in the organization.
  9. Possess a professional appearance and presentation.
